HORSE Event Picks III

Hello,

So here is my third update for the WSOP 50k HORSE Event. I will keep it very brief because I am short on time. I should note that although I did not select him, Doyle Brunson seems to want this one badly. He has stated on his blog that the event is important for him and he even took a short break leading up to it so that he can devote his full attention to it. I suspect that it is not only the prestige of winning the event but also because the event is named for his good friend the late Chip Reese. With 27 players left he is currently the chip leader. I don't think it is going to be easy to stop him. Another noatble is Michael DeMichele. He is a young gun with tremendous talent who is currently tied for first with Doyle.

Only two of my original picks still remain. Negreanu is currently third in chips while Gabe Kaplan is currently 22nd in chips out of the 27 remaining players. So the current list is below. The first two are original picks and the last two are picks from the second group of players. As promised, I will select my final list of final table picks when the players are down to the money which should be tomorrow. There are a lot of great players left and I am positive that the final table will be a really interesting one.

Current Picks

  • Daniel Negreanu - He is on a mission. He wants this one badly.
  • Gabe Kaplan - Going deep again. Whether or not he final tables the event I am certain that nobody who read this thought he would go this deep.
  • Chad Brown
  • Erick Lindgren
Eliminated Picks (Original)
  • Alex Kravchenko
  • David Benyamine
  • Allen Cunningham
  • David Singer
Eliminated Picks (Second Group)
  • Layne Flack
  • Marcel Luske
  • Joe Cassidy
  • T.J. Cloutier
See you on the felt,
